Solorzano holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, as well as a Master of Science in Meteorology and a doctorate in Space Geophysics from the National Institute for Space Research in Brazil. She was previously a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Washington and an Assistant Professor at Bard High School Early College. She conducts research, often with DigiPen students, in atmospheric physics and physics-based simulation.
